I am feeling feeling like Singapore has the four seasons or what!? when it's like sunny all day all week all month. but spring colours are gorgeous! so if you must change your bedding to welcome spring, here's a pallette i bet you'll die for! Tracy Porter's garden bed! or rather, the Rosewater collection. I think i'll feel like I'll be sleeping in a plain-full of flowers!

These mugs are so cute! Im not sure if they're the kind which if you scratch em, you can smell the toffees drawn. But I think not. Haha. But it'll be cool though!

The bedroom is really everyone's favourite room and the above are some of my all time favourite choices from Horchow.

No prizes for guessing which is my most favourite!

The sheets and the bedding looks so plush and if I were to have that for my room, I wouldnt mind staying at home everyday ( just the way my mum likes it.) .

Sheets for Sleep

i uploaded my picture and realised that it made me look weird. my hand looks "broken". haha..ok i shall change it when i have the time. i cant seem to find a suitable picture. Anyhoos..i just browsed thru one of the really really good links on this blog and that is Shabby Chic. and they have very very gorgeous bed sheets that makes beds so welcoming and seem to softly call for me... "come to me Lin.........." zzzzz..... not that my bed is not welcoming enough without these gorgeous sheets, but i think being a poor undergrad, bed sheets are a very easy and relatively cheap way to change the outlook of your room. what say you? i read in a magazine once that everyone should invest in silk pillow cases because they are the best for your hair. they won't cause your hair to tangle cos they are so so smooth. but actually my pillows are more for hugging and silky pillow cases would make them slip away from my grip. haha..ok that's it from me. enjoy the pictures (:

It's been quite awhile since I browsed thru Pottery Barn and I fell in love instantly the moment I saw it's features. Suddenly so eager to find my own space to decorate. GAH! Siao!

I've always adored green in the living area. but I'm also torn to make it bright! with splashes of citrus. Still, the cushions rock! must haves for every living room!

first and foremost, i think this blog is so so pretty. and knowing my unconfident self, it took me some time to decide what to blog about. that aside, i am no expert in interior design. when i do think about what i want in my home, i am pretty much open as to what appeals to me . however i was one who was quick to dismiss interior design inspired by Asian motifs. The whole clean cut zen look or the bright colours used in an Indian home just did not seem to appeal to me. My opinions took a complete 180 degrees turn after my Turkey/Dubai trip last year. i fell in love with Islamic art, the intricacy of its design and the use of geometry and colours in the moques in Turkey (which is technically half-Asian) and also Dubai.

So after blog hopping i stumbled upon this gem. the focus is more to designs inspired by India but i love it all the same. India didn't used to be in my list of countries that i want to visit but it is definitely in it now!

these chandeliers are VERRRRY ugly. they are possibly the only single item that can make a plain stark white room HOT and chic.

they can also cost you a bomb. although i just went for a furniture warehouse sale and i found a chandelier almost similar to the bottom right most one going for only 400bucks!!!!!! and its about double its size.

i hope when its time for me to decorate MY OWN house ill find such a deal again.

My mum will think the room with the above combination belongs to a Dracula. But I think it potentially gives character and drama to a small space possibly with high ceilings. Colours are playful enough to not make the room look like a dungeon.

I especially love the chandelier! But then again I love ALL chandeliers ( which will be the content of my next entry).

I think its a love it or hate it combo.

firstly i would like to thank kak ray for giving me some space here! woohoo! so can i get some space for my face too? hahahahah ok kidding!

this blog is gorrrrrgeous! as are the people blogging. haha.

ok my first post after not much time spent thinking will be about outdoor open spaces.

firstly its because im feeling quite claus now and secondly i love love love the outdoors!

sofas by the pool calls for nights of elegant gatherings with girlfriends sipping on some cold mocktails telling stories of yesteryears and bitching about colleagues.

rightttt. but you get my drift. haha.

Sometimes, details are everything that matters, because when you put them altogether, it's like the whole package comes to life! Annoyingly, both pics show how effortlessly the hostesses bring pieces together, but in fact, i believe, a lot of time and toil are needed to pull them off.

Entertaining has been a culture at my house albeit the traditional way, yes in all the malay/indo glory. Nevertheless, decorating ideas shouldn't be constrained to just the tropical views. I absolutely love the way the centrepieces catch my attention and how those glass chandeliers hang at grandeur. Great ideas i love!!!

I love flowers, the Laura Ashley kind, and I doubt I can find much in Singapore, okay maybe at Laura Ashley itself, but the fabric there are normally used for furniture. Check this new site out, and tell me they're beautiful! Some of the cloth are from Amy Butler and there is a tutorial on how to make the ruffles (i love ruffles!) skirt. chic, no!?

Fidza once told me that my taste for home decor falls under the modern classic category, and yep, i guess she knows me well. No matter the category, I love love love these mirrors. Somewhat vintage and victorian yet can be modern and classy as well. I saw one similar to these at Da Vinci as my mum was browsing for her perfect mirror and it costed a whooping SGD$1400. Relatively cheap for Da Vinci, I think.

So mirror mirror on the wall, which is the fairest of them all?

Let's start out with my all-time favourite place at home, the bedroom. I've probably mentioned earlier in my personal blog that I adore these French inspired carved beds for their vintage accents yet still possessing the modern outlook. It's like love at first sight and instantly I want one for my own home. the die-die must have item!

Sadly, I've not seen such piece anywhere in Singapore, yet. If I were to make an online international purchase, which equates to being crazy, I'll hafta fork out close to 10k. gah! just for a dream bed?!?! Jcpenny offers some similar beds, only they look more traditional and four-postered, which I don't really fancy. Nevertheless, worth the see. Alternatives must always be considered.

Dark or light colours, that's a good question! I find myself visualising a bright lighted room, with dark furniture, but sometimes bright is the way to go. For now, this is my first choice for a master bedroom, carved wooden French-inspired beds. Should I settle for headboards soon? Only time will tell. We'll see. (:
